For Such A Time As This!

Esther 4:13-14 ESV
“Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews.  For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this.”

Mordecai knew the urgency of the situation concerning the Jews. The Jews were no strangers to trouble, mainly because they could not stay true to God and God did what He had to do to bring the Jews back so He could bless them.

I know that may sound strange but it’s not, I’ve seen it all my life. People serve God, and then they slack off going to church or Bible group. They stop reading the Bible and slide on their prayer life. God is not going to send trouble but trouble seems to find them. Then they wonder where is God? Did He not see this coming?

Of course He knows it’s coming, God is never surprised and He always sends a warning but because they have ignored God, they missed the signs. Then they run back to God. The Jews have always been the same, they got away from God and then trouble found them . They go back to God and God blesses them.

In this situation, to get out of trouble, God showed Mordecai what to do and he went to Esther to take away the death decree of the Jews. The power was in her hands to go to the King but she was afraid. Mordecai told her, “deliverance will come.” He was assured of that. Mordecai told Esther, that God may have given her this position for “such a time as this.”

For us, for America, deliverance will come. What God is looking for is someone who believes that they were born, in this time, in this country, for “such a time as this.”

Prayer:
Father, I pray I learn from history and I stay true to You. If You can use me, please use me, perhaps I was born here now, for “such a time as this.”
