Preparing for a Miracle

Exodus 14:1-4
“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the people of Israel to turn back and encamp in front of Pi-hahiroth…by the sea. For Pharaoh will say of the people of Israel, ‘They are wandering in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’ And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.”

As the two million Jews were heading into what they thought would be their greatest tragedy, God was actually setting them up for one of their greatest victories. In the process of God’s divine protection, a miracle was in the works for the children of Israel, despite the fact that they would grumble against God. God was about to open up the sea and allow the Israelites to cross on dry ground.

For the enemy, they thought they had a stroke of good luck. They thought that night that they were going to slaughter the Israelites and it would be Pharoah’s greatest victory.

How often do we miss the hand of God when He is about to give us victory and destroy the enemy? How often do we say in our minds, “God what are You doing?” When God is setting us up for a miracle and a disaster for the adversary.

If we could catch a glimpse of Moses’s thoughts, Joshua and Caleb’s thoughts, I believe they were saying, “God to You be all the glory, have Your way, You show them who is boss Father God.” Today, no matter what happens, give God His way and watch what He will do for us.

Prayer:
Open my eyes Lord, I want to see Your hands of grace working in my life. Before I grumble, before I have an idle thought about my situation, help me to shut my mouth and open my eyes and see Your salvation. In Your mighty name Father God, Amen!
