Calculating the Journey

2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

When life has run its course, most of what will matter is what we have done in God’s plan for each of us.

With our lives, careers, marriage, children, ministries, have we run our race? Too often we run the race that other people think we should be running. What will matter in the end is, have we run the race that God laid out for us.

Did I choose the right path, did I run with endurance, did I run faithful to the abilities that God gave me? Did I live the life that commands praise to the Father?

Did I run my business the way God said I should? Did I train my children in God’s plan? Did I honor God in my marriage? Did I honor God in my finances? Was I faithful to His call for my life? Did I do my best in His strength?

Did I always acknowledge God? Did I seek His advice for every decision, every message, every devotion? Did I keep the faith no matter what happened around me?

Prayer:
Father, as I calculate my life, I see a lot of failures, but beyond those failures I see victories won in me, through You. Lord, helped me to finish the course strong. Lord help me keep the armor on, the shield of faith in one hand and the sword of the Spirit in the other. Help me to press on in the faith until my last breath. In Your name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen!
