Not Believing
Exodus 4:10-13 ERV
“Then Moses said to the Lord, “But, Lord, I am telling you, I am not a good speaker. I have never been able to speak well. And that hasn’t changed since you started talking to me. I am still not a good speaker. You know that I speak slowly and don’t use the best words.”
Then the Lord said to him, “Who made a person’s mouth? And who can make someone deaf or not able to speak? Who can make a person blind? Who can make a person able to see? I am the one. I am the Lord. So go. I will be with you when you speak. I will give you the words to say.” But Moses said, “My Lord, I beg you to send someone else, not me.”
If God calls us, He also has equipped us with everything that we need to fulfill our calling. How often do we limit God, when God asks us to do something?
Moses spent forty years in the backside of the desert because he killed a man. He was in the palace in Egypt, and now he was hiding in the desert. God calls him out to lead His people to the Promised Land, but Moses doesn’t think he is capable to do the task at hand for God. So Moses agues with God.
How many times do we argue with God, not out loud but in our minds? God calls and we tell Him why we are not the ones to do the job. I will say it again, if God tells us to do something, He has already equipped us to carry out the task and to do it well!
Prayer:
Lord God, forgive us for drawing back, falling short because we think we can’t do what You have asked us to do. Pull off the blinders and the limitations Father. Show us that we are more than able to accomplish what You have asked. We can fulfill the dreams that You have placed in our hearts. We can fulfill our destiny with Your strength and power, Amen!
