A Different Story

Exodus 15:9-13a ESV
“The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil…(But then) You blew with your wind; the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters.

“Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? You stretched out your right hand; the earth swallowed them. “You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed…”

Moses and the children of Israel sang this song after the defeat of the Egyptian army. Yes, this is the same Moses that had an argument with God at the burning bush about why he could not do what God asked him to do.

In less than a year, Moses not only spoke to Pharoah but he unleashed through God’s power ten plagues on the Egyptians. Then Moses guided the children of Israel in a mass exodus, of two million Jews, out into the desert at the Red Sea. Then God performed an unforgettable miracle of opening up the Red Sea at the hands of Moses.

Life can be hard sometimes. We limit God by our own self-worth. But what can God do through us? If He used a murderer, a scared man called Moses to do some of His greatest miracles, what can He do through us?

Prayer:
Lord God, only You know what we are capable of. Teach us not to doubt and limit ourselves. Open up our minds to believe that You can do anything through us, Amen!
