Our Shepherd

Isaiah 40:10-11 ESV
“Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs in his arms; He will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.”

Verse 10 says that God is Mighty!  God will return to this earth, and He will come with power, power like we can’t even imagine. He will come to reward His children for all the work they are doing and have done. Understand God is Mighty to save, but He can also be the Gentle Shepherd.

Verse 11 says, He will tend His flock. God our Shepherd is responsible for guiding the sheep, protecting them, and attending to their needs. It also says that He will gather the lambs with His arms. The youngest, the weakest, those that need special care are given special care by the LORD our Shepherd.

He gathers us with His arms. The same mighty arms that comes to save us from danger. He lovingly cradles us close to His heart, that is both a safe place and a tender place.

Prayer:
Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we need you to help us find our way. Gentle Shepherd, come and feed us, for we need your strength from day to day There’s no other we can turn to who can help us face another day. Gentle Shepherd come and lead us.
