Luke 10:20 ESV

“Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Jesus’s disciples came back from a mission trip rejoicing about the results. It is good to feel great about the work we do in the name of Jesus. But remember, it is only accomplished in the name of Jesus, by the power of Almighty God.

Jesus told His disciples, don’t rejoice about the anointing, rejoice about salvation and eternal life through Him. When we get our eyes on ourselves and off of God, it is easy to get prideful, self confident and sometimes arrogant. Rejoice that our names are written in the lambs book of life.
