1 Peter 5:7-8 ESV

“Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

The enemy is out to destroy us, but the only real enemy we have is the devil and he wants to destroy us with whatever tool that works. One of his best tools is anxiety. Anxiety is a nervous disorder characterized by a state of excessive uneasiness and apprehension, typically with compulsive behavior or panic attacks.

Peter says cast ALL our anxieties on Jesus. Sometimes when anxieties hits hard it’s not easy to get rid of them. We give them to God but they seem to linger in our minds and in the pit of our stomachs. Praying helps, sometimes changing the focus is the best way to ease anxiety. The Bible is a good tool, especially the Psalms or Proverbs.

For me, I often write which typically includes something about God. Writting changes my focus and settles me down. CAST you anxieties on Jesus, change your focus, let him give you the solution for your anxiety and fears.

Father, this world gives us plenty of troubles and cares. Today, we release these cares, we give them to you knowing that you love and care for us. Let our focus be on you and your promises, we trust in You! Thank you for getting us through another anxious situation.
