Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them (anyone who apposes the will of God),  for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Moses gave this speech just before the next generation of Israelites were to cross over Jordan into the “Promised Land.” It was a land that the first generation of Israelite feared. They feared it so much that they chose to wonder around in the desert for 40 years instead of receiving the blessings of God.

Moses wanted this new generation to not make the same mistake. In fact, Moses wanted this new generation to take the blessings of God with boldness, without fear, without dread. Moses adds the most important thing they needed to know; “…for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Prayer:
Father, as you have spoken to us through Your word, we will trust in You because You are always with us. You will never ever leave us or forsake us, for that, we will be devoted to You!
