Praying God’s Word

Psalms 25:4-5 NLT
“Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”

Praying God’s word is not a new concept, people have been doing that for a long time. How does it work? You find a verse that speaks to your heart and you recite it back to God. If you will do this on a regular basis, you will find you are speaking God’s language.

In the verse today, we are asking God to reveal His path for us. We all have our own races to run yes we are all heading in the same direction but we have specific assignments. Each of us has to find what our path or assignment looks like.

As David finishes up this prayer, which we can pray now, “LEAD me by your truth and TEACH me, for you are the God who saves me.” (make no mistake, we need to be saved everyday from the things of this life, from sin, evil, harm and danger, from sickness and diseases)

“All day long I put my hope in You” That last part, hoping in God, we have to mean it if we are going to pray it. Our hope is not wishing or “good luck,” our hope is in God.

Prayer:
Father, early in the morning I rise up and seek You! I need Your word to be a lamp to my feet and a light to my pathway. I need Your word to be in my heart that I would not sin against You.
