Galatians 2: 20 ESV

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me…”

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we died to self, that old nature died with Him. It doesn’t mean we’re perfect it doesn’t mean we’re still not going to stumble and fall. But what it does mean is that the new nature pulls at our minds and hearts and says we’ve sinned against God and we need to be in right relationship with Him. We come to Him and we ask Him for forgiveness. And we feel His love.

We are no longer lawless or sinful because Jesus Christ lives in us and it beckons us back to the Father continuously. That’s the difference between the sinner and the redeemed who always want to be back in right relationship with God.
