Psalms 73:26 ESV
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

We know and understand that anything that we experience in this life in the flesh is just temporary. This is not our final destination it’s not a cruel joke, it’s not what should define us after all it’s thoughts, feelings, emotions, experiences, good and bad. It’s anger, it’s joy, it’s gut wrenching expectations and low points in our life that seem unbearable at times. It’s ups and downs, both good times and bad, but all those things do not define who we are unless we let it.

We are created for a purpose, a specific plan for each and every one of us designed by God before we took our first breath. What we experience in this life should be building character. So, why do things happen, why do we go through pain and sickness is because we are in a fallen world but again that does not define who we are. We are created in the image of God,

His divine Spirit is placed within us at spiritual birth, that defines who we are. So what do we do with all the other stuff that happens in this life? We cast it at the feet of Jesus and keep our eyes on Him the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is the only one that walked this earth and knows every pain, sorrow and tears.

Prayer:
Father, sometimes life is more than we can bear, You already know that. Your strength is perfect when my strength is gone. Don’t let this life define me but let me be defined by how high I rise above all that life throws at me.
