The Love of the Father

1 John 3:1 AMP
“See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.”

It is hard to imagine being called a child of God, especially when we did not deserve to be called His children. When we came to the point in our lives where we did believe in His Son, He counted us as His children.

John wrote, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13)

I still shake my head at the idea that all I had to do was believe in the Father’s Son and I was accounted as a child of God by design and plan. What an amazing love! The world does not know or recognize us as children of God because they do not know or recognize Jesus the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.

Prayer:
Lord God, I am amazed that You loved me, and You knew I would come to believe. You opened up Your arms of love and mercy and received me, a vial sinner, just as if I was a prodigal son. Thank You! In Your name Lord God, Amen!
