God Knows Where You Are

Exodus 3:1-6 ESV
“Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.  And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed.

And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”

Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”

It is not often that God lays out His plans to us, but He did for Moses that day. Right down to the detail that when everything was accomplished, there was no denying it was the hand of God in his life.

It was not a coincidence that Moses went in exile on the back side of the desert, not far from where God would meet Him in the burning bush. It is not a coincidence that on this very mountain God would meet Moses to give him the Ten Commandments.

It is not a coincidence that on this mountain God would reveal Himself to Israel, and make a covenant with them forever. That includes today in troubled times for Israel. It is not a coincidence that God met you and I where we were first saved. It may have seemed a random chance, but nothing is a coincidence with God. God knows where we are individually, and at all times.

He knows where You and I will be tomorrow and ten years from now. He sees us every second of every day. That maybe intimidating to some, to me I find comfort knowing He is close. Wherever you and I are spiritually, mentally, or physically, God is providing a way to get closer to Him, or in some cases back to Him, like He did with Moses.

We may feel sometimes that we are on the back side of the desert, but God has a place where He will meet us individually to reveal Himself to us, if we are open and receptive to His presence.

Prayer:
Father God, I pray I am always seeking, always watching out for You, no matter where I am or what I am doing. Every time I encounter You in this life, I know it is not a coincidence. In Your name Lord God I ask, Amen!
