Even in Doubt, He Creates Miracles

Luke 5:3-6 ESV
“Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat.  And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”  And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.”

Peter didn’t know what Jesus was capable of doing. All he knew is that he was tired, frustrated at a bad night of fishing, and now this man is asking me to put my cleaned nets back into the water. Peter doubted that he was going to have a catch so much that he did not give it his whole heart. He went through the motion of fishing knowing that he would not bring up any fish.

It wasn’t even the right time of the day to fish. Even with Peter’s doubt, the Lord directed the fish and it was not just a good haul of fish, it was miraculous haul of fish.It was so miraculous, that Peter had to call his partners out to help with the abundance of fish. Everyone involved went home blessed.

Sometimes we ask God for His blessings, but how often do we feel like, sometimes He will, sometimes He will not give us what we need. God is not stingy! God has abundant blessings for you and me. But He wants us to ask specifically.

In answer to our prayers, anticipate God speaking to you and me, because I have found He always speaks when I ask. In His answer to our asking, anticipate some changes that will sometimes need to be made. I often see God changing my heart, my mindset, my thoughts of how I think God should answer my prayers. But always remember, He can and often does create blessings and miracles even when we doubt. Why? To show He is God and He knows our weakness.

Prayer:
Lord, I know that You have endless blessings for us. I know You know what we need better than we know ourselves. But because You desire a relationship with us, You require that we come to You and fellowship with You, and in that fellowship You put in our hearts how we should ask from You. You are Amazing Lord, thank You for caring so much for us. In Your name I pray, Amen!
