Turn a Deaf Ear to Doubters

1 Samuel 17:28-30a
“Now Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men.  And Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, “Why have you come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness?

I know your presumption and the evil of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.” And David said, “What have I done now? Was it not but a word?” And he turned away from him…”

Doubters come from everywhere. From strangers, family, close friends, and acquaintances. David’s father doubted him, he wasn’t even invited in to see Samuel when Samuel came to anoint a new King, but David was the new King. His brother despised him, Saul doubted his ability to defeat Goliath, but David stayed his course no matter the doubters.

Max Locado wrote, “…Turn a deaf ear to doubters. Set your mind on a holy cause. Once you find your mountain, no giant will stop you, no age will disqualify you, and no problem will defeat you.”

Doubters are everywhere, but faith and trust in God will silences the doubters. If God has given you and I promises, He will fulfill His promises in us!

Prayer:
Lord, shut my ears to the doubters. Give me a holy resolve to take what is mine, what You have promised me. In Your precious Holy name, Amen!
