Faith and Works

James 2:14-17 CEB
“My brothers and sisters, what good is it if people say they have faith but do nothing to show it? Claiming to have faith can’t save anyone, can it?  Imagine a brother or sister who is naked and never has enough food to eat. What if one of you said, “Go in peace! Stay warm! Have a nice meal!”? What good is it if you don’t actually give them what their body needs?  In the same way, faith is dead when it doesn’t result in faithful activity.”

James addresses a problem; the difference between believing we can make a difference by putting actions with our faith or even wanting to make a difference. We can believe that we can make a difference in the world around us and do nothing, or we can believe and step out in faith and make a difference in the world around us.

We may not reach as many as we would like, so we incorporate others to help. We give to home missions to specific works to help those in need, here in our local community. We also give to specific mission organizations that we know are working to win souls and build churches in there countries.

The main emphases of this passage is genuine faith in Christ should result in genuine progressive actions.

Prayer:
Lord do not let any grass grow under my feet. You gave me the faith, I want to give you my actions. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
