Proverbs 15:23 NKJV
“…A word spoken in due season, how good it is!”

We all like to hear good news, things that make us smile or laugh, things that make us feel good or things in general that give us a sense of peace. We all have negative things that happen to us as well and I for one do not mind hearing from people what is bothering them or what I need to pray for. To me it is a joy to listen and respond and to go to the Father in prayer.

I always want to say the right things to people when they come to me with a need. I always want to give them hope, something that will encourage them.

Have you ever had someone who was curt or ruid in your life, someone that seems to say the wrong thing at the wrong time or in the wrong way? You remember how that makes you feel and the next time you try to avoid them.

In the opposite manner, have you ever had someone in your life that is an encourager? Someone that just seems to say the right things at the right time to lift your spirit? That sticks with you as well. If they say kind words you run those words over and over in your mind each time it releases endorphins in your system that make you feel good all over. Or if they text you something kind you find yourself reading the words over and over just to feel the feeling of warmth.

That is “A word spoken in due season” just when you needed it, you received it and those words did what they were designed to do, bring you peace and joy.

Prayer:
Father, let my words be few, let my words sooth, let my words bring hope and life.
