Never Thirst

John 4: 13-14 ESV
“Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water (water in the well) will be thirsty again,  but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Jesus knew the life and lifestyle of the woman at the well. He used the the water as an example that she would understand. She came day after day to draw water from the well. It was a need that had to be fulfilled.

Jesus was not really speaking of her need for water, He was speaking to her heart and spirit about her life choices. As I said before, Jesus when He speaks to someone, generally speaks to the heart of the matter, no pretense.

If she would receive Jesus’s living water, it would give her fulfillment, meaning and purpose. Obviously she had been seeking those things in all the wrong places. This living water that we have received, the Spirit of God in us, brings us fulfillment, meaning, and purpose as well.

It doesn’t matter the paths that we have been on, or the things that we have or have not done. Allow this living water to bubble up within you and it can change everything. Today, let’s allow this Living Water to flow through us to make today go the Masters perfect way!

Prayer:
Lord, as the song says, “here’s my cup Lord, I lift it up Lord, come and quench this thirsting of my heart.” Flow through me today to fulfill Your purpose and plan in me. In Your precious name Lord, Amen!
