The King is Coming

Luke 19:36-40
“As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him.  When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.  “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!”

Jesus came down the mountain of Olives riding on the foul of a colt. The animal had never been ridden before (never been broken in). The symbol of the foul of a colt is how a King road in as a sign of peace. A warring king would ride in on a stallion, but a king that came in peace came riding in on a donkey.

As Jesus approached Jerusalem, people threw their coats down in front of the foul, like carpet before a King to walk on. It was an act of submission before the King. The people worshipped because they believed that Jesus was coming to overthrow the Roman rule, He was actually coming in as the sacrificial lamb, riding on a foul of a donkey to bring peace to hearts and lives.

The people worshipped Him in ignorance. We worship Him because we know who He is and why He came. He is rightfully our King and Prince of Peace. Worship Him today as our King. He dwells in us so we carry that peace with us always. It is a choice, to either live in fear or live in peace. I choose The King, I choose peace.

Prayer:
Lord, I worship You as King, Savior, Prince of Peace today and everyday. I honor You! In Your name Lord,Amen.
