Prophetic Words of Life

Proverbs 29: 18 AMP
“Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God].”

When we stop looking for answers in God’s word, when we stop listening to revelations of God’s word, people become reckless, ungoverned, and do whatever pleases their thoughts. Such was the incident in Exodus 32:21-23. Moses had gone up to the mountain to receive God’s law. He had left his brother Aaron in charge of the multitude of some 2 million Jews in the desert.

When Moses came down, he found the people reveling, acting crazy, worshiping, dancing before a golden calf. “And Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you that you have brought such a great sin upon them?” And Aaron said, “Let not the anger of my lord burn hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil. For they said to me, ‘Make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” (Exodus 32:21-23 ESV)

That was a rebellious generation of people, do not ever stop seeking God’s revelations in His word. Do not ever become complacent, and feel or even say, that we have heard it all. Because if we become satisfied with our knowledge that we have of God’s word, and we stop listening, stop seeking, we will become as reckless as the Jews were in the wilderness.

Prayer:
God draw me closer to You. Speak to me as I search Your words. Never let me be satisfied with what I have heard up to this point. Keep me hungry, keep me thirsty for more of You! In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
