Happy Mother’s Day!

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 ESV
“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

This was a command from God, given to Moses and Moses delivered these words to the people. The intent of this message, at the time, was directed to the fathers in Israel, because the fathers took responsibility to teach the children. You and I know that in this society, and even when I was growing up, the teachings of God and God’s word came from the mothers predominately.

To the mothers and their labor of love, we honor you today. We praise you for the teaching, the love and long-suffering. We thank you for the patience, the power of forgiveness. For the hours that you stayed on your knees praying for us and teaching us to pray.

We thank you for your strength to stand in the face of the enemy to keep him away from our doorstep. Today we honor all mothers even if you have been a spiritual mother to souls that looked up to you who you have encouraged and sometimes corrected and given sound advice to, we thank you mothers!
