Content Right Where I Am

Philippians 4:12-13 ESV
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

I have a disclaimer before I start this explanation of the scripture. We have to always want to be better people, better Christians, better fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters. We need to rise higher to achieve more and even do more in business. But being content where we are right now means we are patient, waiting for God’s plan to be revealed to us.

Maybe we are going through a testing period, be content and understand what God is teaching us during this testing. If we are going through a difficult situation such as an illness or financial set back, let God do a perfect work and be content to know He is working.

Having a great attitude through difficult situations shows maturity, patience, and endurance. The Mother Mary traveled 90 miles to Bethlehem with Joseph while she was nine months pregnant. We didn’t read of any meltdowns or griping and complaining, she just did what she had to do.

Elisha wanted a double portion of Elijah’s Spirit but first he had to serve Elijah. We didn’t read of Elisha throwing a fit because he had to serve an old man before he could get his anointing. Some situations are not comfortable at the time, but allowing God to move in our lives for a point if time, He will lift us out and put us on higher ground.

Prayer:
Lord, walk with us today, let us lean on You. We trust that You have everything under control because we give You control. In Your name Lord. Amen!
